Our technicians use industry-leading equipment and trusted techniques to restore your property after water, fire, mold, or asbestos damage. Our number one priority is to quickly bring your property back to its original condition.

Job Summary

DRYmedic® Restoration Services currently seeking an Estimator. The Estimator plays a critical role in the construction and restoration industry, responsible for evaluating and estimating the costs associated with rebuilding and restoring properties damaged by various perils such as fire, water, storms, or other catastrophes. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to accurately assess the scope of work and associated costs.

Responsibilities

  • Property Inspection: Conduct thorough on-site inspections of damaged properties to assess the extent of damage caused by the insured peril. This includes documenting the affected areas, identifying potential challenges, and evaluating the overall condition of the property's structure.
  • Cost Estimation and Scope Development: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for the reconstruction and restoration services required to bring the property back to its pre-damage condition. Collaborate with construction teams and subcontractors to determine the appropriate scope of work, materials, and labor needed.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain quotes and bids from various vendors and subcontractors for specialized services and materials required for the reconstruction project. Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely project completion.
  • Material and Labor Cost Analysis: Analyze the costs of construction materials, equipment, labor, and any other necessary resources required for the reconstruction efforts. Keep abreast of market trends and price fluctuations to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Insurance Claims Management: Work closely with insurance adjusters and claim representatives to provide them with detailed Xactimate estimates and supporting documentation for the claims process. Negotiate and justify estimates as needed to reach a fair settlement.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, estimates, and all communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Generate reports outlining the scope of work, costs, and timelines for the reconstruction project.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, property owners, and other stakeholders to explain the assessment findings, the reconstruction process, and any potential challenges that may arise. Provide regular updates on the progress of the project.
  • Building Codes and Regulations: Stay updated with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure that reconstruction work complies with all legal requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the reconstruction plan. Monitor project progress and address any issues that may arise during construction.
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure that the reconstruction work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Cost Control and Budgeting: Monitor project costs throughout the reconstruction process to stay within budget constraints and identify areas for cost-saving measures.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in reconstruction estimation may also be considered.
  • Proven experience in property inspections and reconstruction estimation in the restoration industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
